Abstract:In recent years, an increasing amount of initiatives and efforts have been seen in the active exploration of a collegiate system in the reform of higher education in China. The core ideas of implementing a collegiate system include stressing student-centered development, reinforcing general and holistic education, promoting teacher-and-student interaction, implementing all-round cultivation, and stimulating students’ self-growth. The educational concepts of a collegiate system demand that students evaluation system should be gradually shifted from a summative pattern to a formative, diversified and value-increment one, with added emphasis put on the entire learning experiences, general capacities and personality cultivation, while appropriately handling the relationship among the three aspects.
