Abstract:Based on the data in China’s listed companies from 2007 to 2011, this paper examines the influence of shareholding in financial institutions on firms’sensitivity of investment cash flow and the change of investment efficiency. The result shows that shareholding in financial institutions increases the sensitivity of investment cash flow and leads to more inefficient investment, especially overinvestment. This influence is more evident for non-state owned enterprises.
