Economic modernization is the foundation of socialist modernization and a crucial support for building a new development pattern. To scientifically assess the quality and effectiveness of development and to serve targeted policy-making, a multi-dimensional monitoring indicator system for Chinese-style economic modernization has been developed to dynamically track the development process. This system combines international comparisons and regional practices for comprehensive analysis. The study shows that China's economic modernization level has significantly improved overall, but there is still a lack of internal structural balance. Compared to major developed countries, China has a clear advantage in terms of total scale, but there are still gaps in areas reflecting the quality and effectiveness of development, such as innovation quality, domestic demand support, and public services. Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, as pioneers of high-quality development, have made effective explorations in efficiency improvement and innovationdriven development, providing practical references for alleviating development imbalances. The study suggests that advancing economic modernization requires balancing scale consolidation with quality improvement, adopting a categorized approach: maintaining quality in advantageous areas while improving governance mechanisms in weak areas through comprehensive promotion involving government guidance, marketdriven forces, corporate responsibility, and social participation. The study's conclusions help to clarify the characteristics of China's economic modernization evolution, providing quantitative basis for trend analysis and differentiated path formulation.
